Mortgages with Steve (Steve Beecroft, Mortgage Agent Level 2, BRX Mortgage Inc.) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, how it’s used and the choices you have. It follows the principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Information you send us: your name, email address, phone number, the topic you choose and anything you write in a contact or renewal-reminder form.
- Technical information: like most websites, our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Your IP address is also used for up to an hour to limit spam form submissions.
- Calculators: the numbers you type into the calculators stay in your browser. They are not sent to us or stored.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to mortgage brokerages and agents in Ontario.
If you start a mortgage application, the information you enter is collected through FINMO, a secure mortgage application platform, under the consent and privacy terms shown in the application itself.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. If you go on to apply for a mortgage, you will receive a separate consent and disclosure for sharing information with lenders, insurers and credit bureaus.
Please don’t send sensitive details
Website forms and email are not the right place for account numbers, passwords, your Social Insurance Number or similar sensitive information. We’ll arrange a secure way to collect documents if you decide to proceed.
Storage and safeguards
Contact-form submissions are processed through the website’s hosted email service and delivered to Steve’s business inbox. Hosting and email providers may process or store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to applicable local laws.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and for any resulting mortgage file, as required by law. Consent records are kept while you remain subscribed and for up to three years after you unsubscribe, so we can show consent was given.
Third-party services
This site doesn’t use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Fonts are hosted on our own server. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; their privacy practices are their own.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, subject to legal and regulatory requirements. Steve Beecroft is responsible for privacy at Mortgages with Steve. Contact him at (519) 900-3907 or through the contact page.
If you have a concern we can’t resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca). Complaints about mortgage brokering services can also be made to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (fsrao.ca).
